Great question! In order to maintain your device clean, please make sure it has been positioned near the toilet’s water stream so that it captures fresh water with every flush. You can tell if the Urindx has been poised near the toilet's water stream if there are flush holes above the device and when you flush the toilet, it appears water flows across and through the device completely.
In addition to flushing after every use, UrinDx (ur-in-dex) we recommend cleaning your device with soap and water once a month.
Device & Toilet Cleaning
Pull the device up and away from the anchor until it detaches and remove it from the toilet. Leave the anchor in the toilet.
Rinse the device with soap and water.
Allow for water to drain through the internal channel from the funnel. If a block is suspected, rinse the internal channel from the bottom to remove.
Clean toilet as you normally would, using a toilet brush and standard household cleaning products.
If you have chosen to not position your device under the toilet's flush, you can always pour water through the device. Please DO NOT use alcohol to clean the device!
DO NOT stick anything into the small hole of the device. This may damage the device.
DO NOT leave UrinDx submerged in water for more than 10 minutes.
DO NOT use hot water to clean UrinDx. Water can be warm to the touch, but not hot.
AVOID using clorox toilet bleach tablets. Harsh chemical disinfectants or cleaning agents should not be used and may deteriorate the device materials.
DO NOT remove any stickers from the device.
DO NOT use a brush over the white sticker area. This may damage the device.
Ensure all components are thoroughly rinsed and free from soap and residue before storage or use.
Please make sure to wash your hands after handling or cleaning the device.
